Soft, buttery, and garlicky, these homemade garlic bread rolls are the perfect side for pasta, soups, or holiday dinners. Easy to make, full of flavor, and freezer-friendly!
3 ½cupsall-purpose flouror bread flour for chewier rolls
2 ¼tspactive dry yeast
1cupwarm milkabout 110°F
2tbspsugar
1tspsalt
¼cupunsalted buttermelted
1large egg
For the Garlic Butter:
½cupunsalted buttermelted
3clovesgarlicminced
2tbspfresh parsleychopped
½tspsalt
2tbspgrated Parmesan cheeseoptional
Instructions
Prepare the Dough
In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy. Mix in flour, salt, melted butter, and egg. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
First Rise
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
Shape Rolls
Punch down the dough, divide into 12 equal pieces, and roll into balls. Place in a greased 9x13-inch pan. Cover and let rise 30–40 minutes.
Make Garlic Butter
Stir together melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and Parmesan (if using). Brush half the mixture over the rolls.
Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 18–22 minutes, until golden brown. Brush with remaining garlic butter before serving.
Notes
Use bread flour for a chewier texture.
Add red pepper flakes for a spicy version.
Refrigerate shaped rolls overnight to bake fresh the next day.
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2–3 days, or freeze up to 2 months.
