Instructions

Make the Dough

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  • Add warm water and olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  • Cover the bowl and let rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Baking Pan

  • Generously coat a baking pan (9×13 inch) with olive oil.
  • Transfer the risen dough into the pan and gently stretch it toward the edges without pressing out the air.

Let It Rest Again

  • Cover and let rest for 20–30 minutes to relax the dough before dimpling.

Dimple the Dough

  • Coat your fingers in olive oil.
  • Press into the dough to create deep dimples across the entire surface.

Add the Topping

  • Stir together minced garlic and olive oil.
  • Brush the garlic oil evenly over the dough.
  • Sprinkle grated Parmesan and fresh herbs on top.
  • Finish with flaky sea salt.

Bake

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown with crisp edges.
  • Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and melt.
  • Don’t skip the dimpling—this helps the dough absorb garlic oil and bake evenly.
  • For extra garlic flavor, add roasted garlic to the topping mixture.
  • A metal pan yields crispier edges than a glass baking dish.
