Instructions

Prepare the Salmon

  • Pat the salmon pieces dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.

Sear the Salmon

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add salmon pieces in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and slightly crispy.
  • Remove from the pan and set aside.

Make the Honey Garlic Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Stir and let simmer for 2–3 minutes.

Thicken the Sauce (Optional)

  • Mix cornstarch with water and add to the sauce. Stir until the sauce thickens.

Combine and Finish

  • Return the salmon to the skillet and toss gently until evenly coated in the sauce. Cook for another 1–2 minutes.

Garnish and Serve

  • Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, or chili flakes. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure proper searing
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more lemon juice if needed
  • Cook in batches if necessary
